KUCHING: Folks at Pantai Damai constituency can look forward to holistic community development this year as assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi 2012 has a plan for the area.

This year Dr Abdul Rahnman will be focusing more on youth development and eradicating urban poverty.
“We will focus on youth development, especially organising more positive and healthy social activities.

“We must also encourage community involvement in cottage industry according to the ‘one industry, one village’ concept,” he told reporters when attending the ‘Hi-Tea with Nubhan’ at a hotel here yesterday.

Among the activities lined up for youths were promoting activities such as cycling and motorcycling.

He said government agencies would be invited to participate in the community development programmes.

“Almost all of the Pantai Damai constituency is situated in urban areas. We do not want any of our people to be left out from development,” he said, adding that last year his focus was more on education.

The event saw performances by Nubhan and guest artist Lufya from Akademi Fantasia 6 (AF6), accompanied by dancers from Sri Desa Openg.

There was also an exhibition and promotion of Shairie London and Taharah beauty products.

Also present were Assistant Minister of Land Development Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz; head of Taharah Global (M) Sdn Bhd, Zakiah Abu Kasim and Catalyst Events manager Norliza Amit.
